Protect the Dream in Juvenile Detention Centers
- We partner with the GA Department of Juvenile Justice to help kids stay out of gangs, successfully re-enter society, get back in school, and stay out of jail
- We use a reward over punishment model, and help youth work toward earning things which will help them do easier time and provide a better environment for education and programming (i.e., earning their PlayStation back with good behavior after it was taken away)
- We measure outcomes such as time in isolation, disciplinary reports, education progress, etc.
- At the conclusion of the eight-week project youth receive certificates and awards, do presentations about their dreams, enjoy a banquet, and spend time with their families
- Juvenile offenders are recognized and celebrated for their good work, rather than just being punished for their mistakes
